Kerr Lifts Lid On Aborted York Swoop & Tilson Relationship

Last updated : 24 February 2011 By Neil Hobbs

Former Lincoln City captain cruncher Kerr has admitted that a red card cost him a loan move to York City back in November and that he did not see eye to eye with the Imps management. The card in question was not Scotty’s and a patient Gary Mills still got his man in the end.

In a typically candid interview with the York Press Scott told how a first half red for Clarke Keltie on 22 minutes against Nuneaton, saw him thrown an unexpected, albeit temporary lifeline at the Imps.  Scott steadied the ship, then had a typically committed second half as the Imps scored a decider to go through 1-0. In so doing he waved goodbye to a loan move to York with a view to a permanent deal.

Manager Steve Tilson pulled the plug on the  proposed loan deal on the Monday with Scott playing six straight games.   That is testament to his professionalism and admiration for the Imps,  given he and the previous two managers had not got on.

Scott gave an incite into his relationship with Steve Tilson to the York Press

“I didn’t see eye to eye with the manager at Lincoln either really. I felt he disrespected me a bit and, having been there for six years, it was time to move on.”

Although Scott was one short of his 250 appearances milestone the chance of an 18 month deal on his existing money at an ambitious club also appealed, despite dropping out of the League. Full interview here

Thanks for efforts Scotty who knows perhaps we will see you soon.
