Injured Torres Returns To Posh

Last updated : 12 January 2010 By Gary Hutchinson

"Sergio has returned to Peterborough to continue his treatment" said Chris Sutton:

....and so ended the spell of talented and enigmatic midfielder Sergio Torres at Sincil Bank. The popular midfielder had been due to sign an extended loan until the end of the season, but after taking a battering at the hands of Cheltenham Town in the ill tempered 1-1 draw last year he has now ahd to return to his parent club.

Torres scored the first goal of Chris Sutton's spell in charge in a 1-0 win over Aldershot, and it appeared he'd be playing a key role in the Imps relegation battle. However as things stand the flamboyant Argentine will now not be returning to Sincil Bank.

However the door hasn't shut completely. Shakespeare he may not be, but where Chris Sutton lacks in volume he hits right back in straight-to-the-point substance.

"If he's still available when fully fit we'll review the situation."

With that Chris Sutton closed his mouth and returned to his job of running the team. perhaps if the previous incumbent of the role had done that he wouldn't be sat at home in his pants watching Sky Sports News right now.
