Exclusive! Imps to unveil new Mascot for 2011-12

Lincoln City have announced that the famed, legendary Oozlum Bird, seen in it's native environment in the state of Aphrodisia, will be the mascot of Lincoln City next season.

The Oozlum Bird features heavily in British and Australian folk tales and is known for flying backwards, not only to admire itself, but also to look at where it has been previously.

The bird itself is bedecked in a number of colours, and we spoke to the University of East Cheam's Ornithologist department head Professor Inigo Tinkle who told LCM, “Oh dear oh no oh dear missus oh yes don’t laugh it’s very rare you see, very rare indeed and for the football club to take this on well missus don’t titter, well you’ve got to haven’t you?”.

Reaction in the streets of Lincoln was muted to say the least.  A bloke in at least one pub thought it was a good idea but then decided he didn’t like football whilst a bloke in another pub said he was a Lincoln fan, but he didn't like football much either.

The club have declined to comment at the moment, although a change of nickname from the Imps to the Oozlums is mooted for the future.

One further thing about the Oozlum bird - it is also known for flying in ever decreasing circles before it disappears up it’s own fundament.

But as usual at Sincil Bank, it's a right carry on!
