Patulea Dismisses 'Hero' Label

Adrian Patulea has been labelled an instant fans hero by the Imps faithful, but the striker doesn't feel comfortable with that tag.

The Romanian made his debut as a substitute against Barnet on Saturday scoring the second in a 2-0 win. His pass also released Lenny John Lewis that led to Dany N'Guessans opener.

Patulea told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "Heroes are people who treat cancer and aids.

"I'm not a hero, I'm just a striker. I play a game and make people happy, but I'm happy for the fans and I'm glad to help the team to win."

Patuleas story has been all around the football world, but now the circus has ended and Patulea wants to concentrate on his game.

He added: "After the saga happening around me I'm happy to be here.

"I'm a striker, I did my job and scored. I'm happy for the fans, the gaffer and all the lads, I'm a happy guy right now."
