Hero with abrace over 180 minutes - McAuley
The 1-1 draw at the Moss Rose ground confirmed a 2-1 aggregate win over Macclesfield, meaning the Imps are through to Saturdays play off final against Southend Utd.

The Imps have already shifted 6,000 of the 22,500 allocation in just the first day of general sale, and a following of 16,000 is expected as a bare minimum for the chance to watch the Imps grab a place alongside Notts Forest in League One next season. The play off is the talk of the town as workplaces and communities talk of little else than the Imps big chance. Indeed talk of the FA Cup final has been almost non existent.

Gareth McAuley is the hero of the hour scoring both goals in the semi finals, and fans will be hoping he can go one better and make it three in three with a winner at The Millennium Stadium.

Imps fan Pete Hutchinson said "They've got to do it. We can beat Southend and I'm looking forward to a great day out in Cardiff, and perhaps another one in Nottingham before Christmas.

The Imps were roared on by 2,500 travelling supporters against Macc, almost matching the 3,000 home support. Before the game it was red and white dominating the Macc town centre, with Imps flags adourning lonely fences along the notorious 'Cat and Fiddle' road that the fans took to breach the Peak District. Despite Macc's brave efforts the Imps were just too strong and too determind to go one better than they managed the last two seasons. The final whistle brought jubilant scenes as Imps players, directors and staff spilled onto the pitch in delrium to celebrate their achievement with the travelling faithful.

LCM is sure that the boys won't let us down and can overcome Southend in six days time.
