The newly named OOH Lincoln Ladies have secured the signature of prolific striker Amanda Barr, an England international and a player considered as one of the top female footballers in the country.

Amanda first came to Lincolns attention during a heavy FA Cup defeat to Everton several years ago where her class stood out on a dismal defeat for Lincoln. However the is much more to her game than the one appearance.

Amanda had an outstanding record at England U18 level, scoring 11 goals in 18 games, and now features regularly in the Senior Squad. She was one of the first students on a football scholarship at The FA National Player Development Centre at Loughborough University.

Her second senior international goal was a crucial one - netting in England's 1-0 World Cup Play-off Semi-Final victory over Iceland in September 2002 to ensure England progressed to the Play-Off Final on aggregate 3-2. She was also the top goalscorer in the women's top flight in her first year with Charlton Athletic.

Reports suggest she is an aggressive player, fast and with a keen eye for goal.

As well as Charlton Amanda has featured for Leeds, Birmingham and Blackburn to name a few, and her signing is a signal of the intention to win the league this time around, after missing out narrowly on the final day to Nottingham Forest.

Amanda put pen to paper on a deal last night.
