Lincoln enhanced their play-off hopes with a very comfortable 3-0 victory at the fast-falling former league leaders. Three goals in the second half, one from Francis Green which was sandwiched between a brace from Jamie Forrester, easily won the points for Lincoln.

The first half was an extremely turgid affair with very little football and very few chances presenting themselves to both sets of strikers. What opportunities did come about fell to the visitors with Green slipping past Roger Johnson before firing in a shot at the near post which was blocked by Frank Talia.

Green also found himself in space a few minutes later, but despite keeping his thunderbolt drive down very well, the well-struck effort was superbly charged down by Danny Senda.

Marvin Robinson almost gave the Imps the lead early in the second half following the failure of the Wycombe defence to clear the ball, but his snap-shot on the turn went just wide.

The visitors deservedly took the lead after 62 minutes. Jeff Hughes made tracks down the Lincoln left and his near-post cross was delightfully side-footed home by ex Leeds hit- man Forrester.

The visitors extended their lead nine minutes later with a well-worked second goal. Green, having seen a brace of opportunities go begging in the first half, drilled in a 20 yard shot past Talia after Nathaniel Brown had opened up the Wycombe defence.

Green should have made it three a few minutes later, running half the length of the field as the Wycombe rearguard parted like the Red Sea, but he shot weakly at Talia.

It was three after 82 minutes. Substitute Paul Mayo with his first touch sent Forrester clean through and his shot went in off the post.
