Lincoln produced another shocking performance to leave them with just one win in 10 games. The Imps were second best throughout the 90 minutes and in the end were undone by three set-piece moves.

Wrexham, in contrast, celebrated at the end after one of their best performances of the season which lifted them out of the bottom two.

The result was never in doubt after Wrexham took an 18th minute lead. Matt Done fired in a corner from the left which was headed into the top corner by the unmarked Simon Spender.

Lincoln tried to hit back but Peter Holmes fired over the bar after being set up by Jamie Forrester.

Wrexham looked dangerous with every attack and were unlucky in the 25th minute when Chris Llewellyn was denied by a last ditch interception from Paul Green.

Wrexham grabbed their second goal soon after when a long throw from Spender was flicked on by Danny Williams and stand-in skipper Scott Kerr headed into his own net in an attempt to clear.

Lincoln went close on the half hour but an in-swinging corner from Jeff Hughes was headed off the line by Michael Proctor.

But there was no way back for Lincoln after Lee McEvilly scored Wrexham's third goal in the 52nd minute.

Lincoln were caught out by a throw and Spender put the ball into the box where the unmarked McEvilly headed in.

Lincoln's frustration showed with bookings for Kerr, Hughes and Paul Mayo.

But they could have lost by even more with McEvilly wasting a 79th minute chance after being put through by Jeff Whitley.
