Close to breaking deadlock - Simon Yeo
Lincoln were impressive yesterday without breaking the deadlock in an entertaining encounter with Joe Kinnears Notts Forest.

Simon Yeo was the perkiest forward on the field twice having good efforts at Paul Gerrards goal. Gary Taylor Fletcher also had a first half oppotunity across the face of Forests goal.

Marlon King, Andy Impey, Eoin Jess and David Johnson all appeared for Forest, with Lincoln fielding a strong first team too. Simon Weaver was recalled to the line up alongside Ben Futcher and Paul Morgan in a familiar back three. Dean West made his second City debut with Kevin Sandwith turning in a competent performance at left back.

City also fielded some fresh faces in the second half including Canadian under 23 keeper Simon Raynor, ex Cheltenham forward Craig Dobson and transfer target Ciaran Toner. However towards the end of the game no side seemed willing to push forward to risk all for nothing so close to the start of the new league campaign.
