Sandwith joins Imps exodus

Sandwith - quick to bite the hand that feeds
27 year old Sandwith signed from Halifax at the end of last season and gradually forced his way into the first team last season. Having cost the Imps £10,000 his departure is an obvious blow.

The move is veiwed as a snub to City who gave the player a taste of League Two action following a spell out of the league. Sandwith often looked shaky in the Imps rearguard but possessed a fearsome left foot that whipped over quality crosses and corners. Sandwith followed the lead of Ben Futcher and Peter Gain by signing for another club without rejecting the Imps offer - indeed he verbally agreed a new two year deal at Sincil Bank just last week.

His upping sticks may not be such a large blow to The Imps. Its heavily rumoured that ex Imp Paul Mayo will be signing for City once again after a failed spell at Watford that culminated in his release this week.
