Mystery Striker set to sign?

Broughton - Could he soon be an Imp?
The identity of the new man is still a secret as City wouldn't want media speculation interesting other clubs, but even so fans specualtion is mounting as to the players identity. Here are a few players who may be on Keiths shopping list.

Drewe Broughton has recently completed a loan spell at Rushden and Diamonds where he hit 5 goals in 10 outings. However a permanent deal hasn't been agreed for the 26 year old player who signed for Southend from Kidderminster in June 2003. He's made 58 appearances for the Shrimpers scoring just eight times but has found the net 56 times in his eight year career after starting out as a trainee at Norwich City. At 6'3 he fits the bill as Keiths target man perfectly. Rumour Rating * * * * *

Gareth Ainsworth will need no introduction to Imps fans. The QPR winger made 97 Imps appearances between 1995 - 1997 scoring 41 goals. Recently Ainsworth has drifted in and out of the QPR team making 43 appearances in his season and a half tenure. However as a pacy wide man it is unlikely he'd interest Keith, and theres the small matter of funding and the players wages. despite Ainsworths insistence his love affair with Lincoln is not over it appears to early for the messiah to return. Rumour Rating *

Kevin Gall
is currently warming the subs bench at Yeovil having lost his place to Tarachulski and Phil Jevons. Just a year ago Gallo was hot property having hit 23 goals since a February 2003 move from Bristol Rovers. Gall would be the sort of no nonsense blood and guts player Keith admires, but again a fee and wages may be a stumbling block. Rumour Rating **

So Broughton to feature at Adams Park on Saturday? You'll have to watch this space.
