McCombe hands in request to leave Scunthorpe

Jamie McCombe has fired back in the row with boss Brian Laws by handing in a second transfer request.

McCombe has been battling with Laws for a move away from Glanford Park, but Laws insisted he wanted the big defender to stay.

However McCombe has fuelled rumours that he wants a move to City by handing in a second written transfer request. Although the issue looks set to be resolved by the FA’s tribunal, it seems clear that McCombe doesn’t want to stay with The Iron.

The prospect of 6’5 McCombe forming a defence partnership with 6’6 Ben Futcher is terrifying for Division Threes forwards, and no doubt City fans will hope this latest move by McCombe has brought that towering pairing a touch closer.
