Marcus on the move

The big forward (26) has been at the centre of a scandal also involving Ciaran Toner in which Toner recieved injuries that saw him visit hospital. Both players were suspended pending a further investigation.

Keith made no secret of the fact he was disgusted by the players antics after he had rescued them both from footballing obscurity. Toner had been freed by Orient and Richardson was rotting in the stiffs at Hartlepool.

Richardson has intially joined Dale on a one months loan period but local press today reported that Richardson felt it 'was time to move on' after suffering an indifferent 2004 at Sincil Bank. He recently lost his place to Gary Taylor Fletcher and Martin Carruthers before him. With Keith recently picking up Guy Ipoua and Karl Bermingham on loan it seems Marcus is finally tired of waiting for his chance.

Some fans will be happy to see Richardson go as his ungainly style won him few friends. However as an ever present at Sincil bank this season I have always found Richardson to be a hard worker and a player who is exceptionally underrated. His holding up of the ball is better than any other player the Imps have and whilst his heading isn't as strong as some might expect he still cuts a much more convincing figure up front than Jamie McCombe.

LCM wish Marcus the very best of luck, and perhaps harbour a slight hope he may yet still return to the Bank.
