Jackson Hints At Butcher Move

Imps gaffer Peter Jackson has admitted bringing midfielder Richard Butcher to the club for a third spell would go down extremely well with the Imps' fans.

There has been intense speculation regarding the destination of former Imps favourite Butcher, and Jackson did nothing to dismiss the rumours.

Jackson told local media: "I'm bound to be linked with Butcher, he was a real fans' favourite here. I've been linked with lots of players, a lot of it's absolute nonsense, some of it's true. So is it true? Maybe."

Butcher stated to LCM last season in an interview that he would never rule out an emotional return to the side that gave him his break in Legaue football. After leaving City he spent a turbulent time at Oldham before spells at Peterborough and Notts County.
