Imps linked with three new faces

City have been linked with a couple of new players in local press oday, but LCM understands that only two of the mentioned names are potential targets.

Rumours have City poised to raid Mansfield Town for Mickey Boulding, Matt Hamshaw and Alex John Baptiste. However LCM understands that of those players only Boulding and Hamshaw are realistic targets.

Boulding is a diminuitive 20 goals a season striker only too well known to The Imps. His two goals at Sincil Bank this season consigned City to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat. Previously Boulding has also played at Rotherham, Grimsby and Cardiff City. If we were to sign Boulding it would be a direct answer to those fans who claim City never sign 'a proven goal scorer'.

Matty Hamshaw is an ex Sheff Weds and Stockport winger who can consider himself unlucky to be fighting another relegation battle. Most comfortable on the right side of midfield Hamshaw was highly rated at Sheff Weds, and joined Stockport during their free fall from Championship football to the trapdoor of Blue Square football. He signed for Mansfield hoping to put the spectre of relegation behind him, but this season has been a disaster.

LCM can exclusively reveal that the third potential new face heading to Sincil Bank is none other than Huddersfield Towns highly rated winger Danny Schofield. Schofield can play on either flank, or up front and recently requested a move away for Huddersfield for personal reasons. own both Yeovil and Oldham covert his signature, but he'll snap up the opportunity to link up with ex mentor Peter Jackson. Jackson has an enigmatic personality and a management style that endears him to those who play under him, and Schofield is understood to relish a new challenge. The signing, should it come off, would be quite a coup for Lincoln and signal their intentions to the rest of League Two in no uncertain terms.
