Imps Hope For Busy Deadline Day At The Bank

Steve Tilson is set to unveil two further signings on transfer deadline day in addition to Screech from Southend and free agent Patrick formerly of Swindon Town and QPR.  Hibernian’s Hogg could be one although another midfielder from a London club could also be on the cards. Let us hope any moves in the other direction do not include Ashley Grimes rumoured to be the subject of some attention from the North West.

One thing is for sure Steve Tilson is certainly keen to clear the decks in the other direction with 6 Imps being urged to move on in order to further their careers. Although this had caused some friction at the training ground the Imps cannot afford sentimentality if they are to move forward.

A winning mentality is a prerequisite if the Imps are to woo back the missing thousands (core support stands at 2400 as opposed to 5,000 under Schoey) to replenish a bank account that can only take so much strain.  An extra thousand on the gate – easily achievable before the end of the season in the remaining ten games - would see a six figure addition to what we are already expecting.

Football is an entertainment business where a level of speculation is required less you endure a slow and painful demise. Let us hope that period is passed with the Imps and that Steve Tilson’s arrival is the stitch in time that saves 9.
