Imps Exodus: Hughton, Anderson & Green Leaving

Steve Tilson and Paul Brush’s relentless clean sweep is set to see Cian Hughton move to Newport County on loan and Joe Anderson fix up a similar deal at Eastbourne.

A further perhaps more surprising name also sees his future elsewhere and will come as a surprise to Imps.  Versatile right, left and centreback Paul Green has asked to go on loan to an as yet un-named League 2 club.

Greeny has put in some brave displays for the Imps and has the battle scars and injury list to prove it. Perhaps sentimentality has had to make way for some tough decisions as the new management turn the dressing room moral and performances on the pitch around.

Hughton and Anderson are two full backs who are certainly surplus to requirements and are certainly too lightweight for the riggers of League 2 even if Cian is great going forward.

The harsh financial fact is that as none of the three appear to figure in the managers longterm plans, this would not only free up important funds for the Imps, but also be useful to the players who will be mindful of contracts.
