Defender set to sign?

City look all set to sign Scunthorpes out of favour centre back Jamie McCombe. The 21 year old defender has been granted a free transfer at Glanford Park, and agent Craig Allardyce is confident that the 6'5" defender will be an Imps player by the end of the week.
Iron boss Brian Laws is attempting to thwart Lincolns attempts to bring McCombe to the Bank, but indications are that things will be tied up in time for the player to feature against Boston United.
McCombe has featured 52 times for the Iron, making a further 18 appearances as a substitute before being farmed out to Conference side Halifax Town on loan where he played 7 games scoring once. He also featured as a late substitute in the second leg of the play off finals for the Iron last season where the Imps triumphed 1-0.
