Adam Watts has looked impressive for City at the back, but the Fulham loan star is surplus to requirements at Craven Cottage.
His Fulham contract expires at the end of the season, and the word around Sincil Bank is that he won't be offered a new deal. This leaves the door open for Sutton to pounce on the talented defender.
