Celtic Outcast Hopes For Imps Lifeline

Last updated : 23 February 2011 By Neil Hobbs

Are things finally looking up for Celtic and Middlesbrough nearly man Ben Hutchinson who bagged a brace against Leeds United’s reserves yesterday? In truth it has been downhill for a while for the former Middlesbrough youth prodigy who also failed to sparkle at Swindon Town & Dundee.

But things perked up a little yesterday albeit in a reserve game. His smart 20 yarder on 37 and a 66th minute penalty he hopes will put him back into the manager’s plans, given Celtic are yet to even have a conversation with him since his move to the Imps on a season long loan.  One goal every 440 minutes for the Imps suggests Lennons scouts are hardly likely to have sent glowing reports back to Parkhead. 23 year old Ben also finds himself behind Schreech in the pecking order, should goal machine Grimes have to come off.

Ben was of course one of Sutton’s headline signings along with numerous others who have hamstrung Tilson’s budget since he took over.  However he has been big thumbs down and fingers up at the Imps, having had a somewhat Stallardesque fall out with home fans earlier this season. The new boss did give him a run out in the latter part of Saturday’s match but is he really the bustling centre forward we need if we are to progress. One has to hope Tilson has an idea of where to spend the wages better  this summer. Judge for yourselves Imps the tale of the tape for 2010/11 is at the foot of the article.

Conscious of the fact that he will be out of contract at the end of the season Hutchinson is not surprisingly hinting to the Lincolnshire Echo that he would be open to a permanent deal. Here is a Link to the Lincolnshire Echo’s take on things
