Carruthers chooses to return

The 'U' manager Steve Thompson was keen for Carruthers to extend his loan until the end of the season, but the much travelled forward opted to return and fight for his first team spot.

Keith Alexander was delighted the veteran goal getter had chosen to return to the Imps, despite failing to hit the net whilst wearing the red and white of city.

Carruthers had looked sharp up front for Cambridge which prompted ex City hero Thompson to request his services until the seasons climax. However with the exception of Simon Yeo Citys forwards do seem shot shy and perhaps the 2-3 reverse at home to Wycombe will prompt Keith to ring the changes.
