Arsenal Star Hoyte Will Be Back

Last updated : 14 January 2011 By Neil Hobbs

Young Arsenal centre half Gavin Hoyte looks set to return to his parent club for treatment following a hamstring injury.  Imps should have no fear that this marks an end to his loan spell.  Rather this is au revoir as opposed to goodbye  and just the way of things when a loanee is injured. Parent clubs prefer to get their players back to fitness using their own facilities and there are few in world football better than Arsenal’s.

The injury is likely to last for approximately 3 weeks depending on Gavin’s response to treatment, although hamstrings respond best to rest. Hoyte however looks set to rejoin the Imps on a youth loan until the end of the season before the January window closes. This is great news as the versatile lad can play right back, centre half and sweeper. It is a shame a hamstring injury curtailed some otherwise impressive performances from the 20 year old, thrown in at the League 2 deep end.

Wry old Steve Tilson hinted that we would hear something in the next couple of weeks at yesterday’s pre Sincil Saturday sit-down with the local media. Would that be just the talented young Hoyte returning or perhaps another of Arsene Wenger’s young guns?

We'll keep our mince pies (eyes) open shall we Tilly?
