Who Is Tom Kilbey - Pompey Maestro ?

Last updated : 24 March 2011 By Neil Hobbs

The Imps have signed former Millwall  and Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Tom Kilbey from Portsmouth on an emergency loan deal until the end of the season.

Born in East London, Tom joined the Millwall Academy and made one appearance as a 16 year old in the JPT against Swansea  He  then moved for an undisclosed fee to Portsmouth in October 2007. The classy 6 foot 3 inch midfielder has been an ever present in Pompey’s youth and reserve sides since his arrival and even grabbed a hat trick against WBA in April 2009.

A loan deal to Dagenham & Redbridge saw him notch another JPT appearance, this time against MK Dons before returning to sign a contract extension tying him to the club until June 2011. So fingers crossed he could be ours in the summer then!

Tom is a classy box to box midfielder with a Vierra-like telescopic tackle that will really make the midfield ours if he is on song. He is a confident lad making his league debut for Pompey as a substitute at Watford this New Year's Day  before getting his first goal for the club, also as a substitute, in a 1-3 FA Cup defeat at  against Brighton the same week.

Welcome aboard Tom - another coup for Brushy and Tilson.
