The Horse is staying put
Imps stalwart Simon Weaver has ended speculation surounding his Imps future by agreeing to sign his new contract.

Weaver was ever present for the Imps untill the introduction of Jamie McCombe, but the ex Iron mans arrival signalled a downturn in Weavers fortunes. His gritty and committed displays will be most welcome next season as he attempts to cement his place in the Imps rearguard.

Weaver was one of Keith Alexanders first signings, and despite an early red card against Carlisle last season he went on to establish himself as a sterling performer at the centre of the Imps defence. Along with Paul Morgan and Ben Futcher Weaver became part of one of the third divisions tightest defences.

He becomes only the first of three out of contract defenders to pledge their future to the Imps. Both McCombe and the versatile Matt Bloomer have yet to sign.
