With the Shrewsbury V Rotherham game postponed, the biggest gainers this weekend were Chesterfield who beat Lincon and Port Vale who beat Bradford City. Both Gillingham and Bury gained on Wycombe who lost to Accrington despite them sharing a point in their 1-1 draw. Thus the Spireites now stand 9 points clear whilst Stockport County's plight is starting to look dire at the other end after another 1-4 reverse at home.
At The Bottom Barnet drew 1-1 at Cheltenham to remain routed to the foot of the Football :eague. Macc did themselves a massive favour coming from behind to win 4-1 away in the Cheshire derby to leave Stockport second from bottom. Burton are now third from bottom despite all the games in hand after a 0-0 battle of attrition at the Bulls. Incredibly despite their fine form Hereford are still 20th with Bradford just a point above them and 6 points from the drop zone. Yes league 2's biggest supported club continue to falter after looking playoff contenders just before Christmas.
It just goes to prove how close this League is but then again would we have the circus that is Npower league 2 any other way? One parting thought before we cut to the chase and get to the stats: Do Friday Games work? Given two of the top supported L2 sides clashed on Friday night Port Vale must be disapointed that just 4775 turned up and Bradford is not exactly a million miles away is it?
