Udo Onwere Back At The Bank

Last updated : 12 December 2008 By Gary Hutchinson
Udo Onwere made 53 appearances for City, banging in 5 goals and was famously sent off on his Lincoln debut against Exeter City.

The midfielder also played for Fulham, Barnet, Dover, Aylesbury and Blackburn before forging a career with a top London law firm. Tonight he is back as a guest of the club for the clash with Accrington Stanley.

City's mascot Poacher The Imp has Udo Onwere as one of his favourite ever City players on his facebook page, and will be looking to meet his hero from the mid nineties.

Udo Onwere was perhaps immortalised in Lincoln folklore by his terrace chant 'Boom Boom Boom, Let me hear you say Udo - Onwere', to the tune of 90's dance anthem Boom Boom Boom by the outhere brothers.

Onwere will be joined tonight by ex Imps goalkeeper and another cult hero Barry Richardson.

Onwere and Richardson will undoubtedly be VERY warmly recieved tonight at a chilly Sincil Bank.
