Two Ex Imps on the move

Ex Imps wideman Jeff Hughes has departed Crystal palace where he spent one unhappy season. Following his big money move to the championship, Hughes found life tough going and spent time on loan at Peterborough and Bristol Rovers. Its was widely thought Peterborough would sign him, but he today moved to Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee after falling right out of favour with Neil Warnock.

A former City star will get an opportunity to perform at Sincil bank next season. 'Super' Kevin Austin has become the second defender to sign for Chesterfield this summer after a free transfer from Swansea. Swansea have fought their way to promotion from League One, and Austin legs weren't deemed suitable for the step up. Austin was a superb left sided defender who excelled in the promotion year of 1997/98, only to make a big move to Barnsley. However he broke his leg playing a cup game for Barnsley, ironically against City, and never really captured the promise he'd shown.
