The Poachers Hit £700 Mark

By Gary Hutchinson

The Marie Curie Cancer Care Fundraising Effort From The Poachers Hits £700
As reported on this site Poacher and his other half Mrs Poacher are running the 2008 Mascot Grand National for Marie Curie Cancer Care, and have been pushing for sponsors for a fortnight now. They are over the moon to make the following announcement:

"Fund raising has been going superbly and at the moment myself and Mrs Poacher have raised a fantastic £710. Theres one day left, so lets see if we can break that £800. Marie Curie is a wonderful charity that carries out such important work in some really difficult conditions. This money will make a real impact on one persons life. £160 pays for a full shift of in house care for one cancer sufferer. Please visit www.poachertheimp.com/poachertheimp to help with this final push.

The Mascot race itself promises to be a real spectacle this year. The Saffron Walden mascot is tipped to win by the bookies, but its suspected that there may be an attempt to hinder his progress! Mrs Poacher has been training hard for the event, so I'll let her take the glory and fly the flag for Lincoln at the back of the race!!!"

The race takes place Sunday at Huntingdon 1.15pm.
