Terrible Result Soured More By Fans

The 3-1 defeat at the hands of Dagenham was bad enough, but the behaviour of one section of fans following the game was incomprehensible, and a stain on our clubs name.

Following the defeat three fans and a small child were seen to approach the Dagenham team bus, and launch into an attack on it. The three, which included two WOMEN kicked and punched the bus whilst shouting abuse aimed at Dagenham, accusing them of cheating. At that moment a Dagenham reserve player thought to be their third keeper emerged from the tunnel, at which point the fans aimed their foul abuse at him. They were heard to call him 'scum' as well as a peppering of abusive language.

A nearby City fan remonstrated with the trio, and they turned their attention to him and his girlfriend. The fan, who simply asked them to 'leave it out' was abused and asked 'what sort of a fan are you'. Both him and his girlfriend had to stand in the line of abuse for some time until the team coach was moved.

The three adults had a small child with them, setting a fine example for tomorrows fans. The main individual was a girl of 19 or 20, short with dark hair of chubby build, and it was her who was verbally aggresive to the man and woman who intervened. The older woman was 40 ish with dark hair and glasses, and looked quite similar to Rose West. The final troublemaker was a lad of 19 or 20 with fair hair and rosy red complexion. All were wearing replica shirts.

Its understood that the incident was reported to stewards, but the club office was closed today so there was no comment forthcoming.

The behaviour comes as the club are supporting an intiative to cut down aggresive and abusive behaviour in family area's.
