Sunderland Keeper Carson's Debut Better Than It Looks

Last updated : 23 January 2011 By Neil Hobbs

Stockport County had 12 shots in total with on loan Sunderland keeper Trevor Carson making 3 saves and marshalling his back four and penalty area pretty well considering he hardly knew many names.  Pehaps he wrote them on the back of his gloves or on the inside of those mysterious bags keepers have.

But lets get back on track, how fared our cat? A save early doors from Elding plus another from Demontagnac certainly made a difference to what was threatening to become a rugby score. The save from Tansey’s free kick led to their first but the defensive statues were at fault for that one.

There was little he could do about the first, diving well to his right to parry Tansey’s chipped free kick.  The second saw David Poole get the better of his defender to sweep home at the near post from 4 yards. The third saw a wicked deflection off Watts from Demontagnac’s cross-cum-shot 15 minutes from time.

So all in all according to Professor AllBeenz-Present at the Universaity of Lincoln it was a thumbs up for Clever Trevor.
