Strong Reserves Outing Today

Last updated : 08 December 2009 By Peter Muxlow

Gone are the days when the reserves side used to be packed full of youth team players and trialists. Todays game at Hartlepool features no less than 13 players who were consdiered as first team players by Peter Jackson, or have featured in recent weeks.

Most striking is the inclusion of Paul Green at full back as he continues his rehabilitation from a hip injury. Wide men Michael Gordon and Khanu Smith both play after missing out in the weekends 0-0 draw with Crewe.

Striker Andy Hutchinson also takes a step closer to first team action after being named up front alongside Lennell John-Lewis.

Out of favour midfielder Richard Butcher finds himself on the bench.
