Simmons May Make Permanent Move

Left winger Simmons is currently contracted to Derby County having been earmarked as a prospect for the future. However under Nigel Clough he has been told he can leave Pride Park and finds himself looking to earn a contract here at City.

Simmons made his club debut on 11 May 2008 on the final day of the season, in a Premier League game against Reading. He came on as a sub and had the ball in the net within seconds of getting on the pitch but the whistle had already been blown for a foul.

Simmons first team chances were restricted by Paul Jewell's rebuilding of Derby's squad after relegation from the Premier League and because of this on October 30, 2008 he joined non-league Burton Albion on a months loan, making two appearances.

Simmons signs with a view to earning a permanent deal in the summer, with Peter Jackson admitting the pacy wideman is here with 'a view to the future'..... this probably means that Dany N'Guessan will be moving on come the end of the season.
