Pembletons Season Is Over

Pembleton was injured trying to meet a Jamie Forrester cross in the second half of our excellent 2-1 win at Morecombe on Saturday, and the Imps physio Michael 'Slick' Wait has confirmed that the injury has ended the youngsters season.

"Martin has strained medial ligaments in his left knee, an injury that will usually keep a player out for four to six weeks" he said speaking to redimps.com.

Pembleton has looked impressive since breaking through into the first team in the last few weeks, and although his season is over he is at the beginning of a very promising career with City. Indeed The Imps faithful have already dubbed their new homegrown cult hero 'The Rat'. Once the fans attach a nickname to you it normally means your being taken to their hearts...... depending on what it is of course. I doubt Dene 'The Fairy' Cropper, 'Goofy' Joe Allon, or Phil 'Donkey' Daley agree.
