Paul Green Makes Reserves Comeback

Last updated : 26 November 2009 By Gary Hutchinson

Green has been out for a number of months after major hip surgery, and wasn't expected to be making a return to competitive action until Christmas at the very least.

However slightly ahead of schedule he made a return to action yesterday at full back for the reserves as they were beaten 2-1 by Leeds Utd.

Green signed in December 2006 from Aston Villa under the watchful eyes of John Deehan and John Schofield.

Under Peter Jackson Green developed into one of the most competitive and robust full backs in League Two. However after being beset by hip injury problems a specialist suggested a major opertaion which would enable him to continue playing at our level.

The news Greeny has returned to football at any level is a welcome boost for Imps fans, who'll almost see the defender as a new signing he's been out so long!
