Mullarkey Leaves Imps

Sam Mullarkey has left Sincil Bank by mutual consent after choosing not to sign his recent contract offer with the club.

Sam made 18 appearances for City predominately as a substitute, scoring just one goal - and what a goal it was. He rattled in an equaliser against Notts County just minutes after Delroy Facey had scored for the Magpies in an otherwise awful game of football.

Sam was expected to fly with the squad to the training camp in Celle, Germany this week. However it is alleged that he placed a last minute phone call to Lincoln indicating that he wasn't intending to join the squad, something Jacko alluded to in his official blog on the Imps official website.

It's widely believed that Sam will now drop down to the lower leagues again at a level where he looks much more comfortable. Boston, Grantham, Lincoln Utd and Gainsborough Trinity are thought to be monitoring his progress with Blue Square North side Trinity favourites to land him.
