Ex England schoolboy Brown (27) comes from Gillingham where he has previously played under Imps assistant manager Iffy Onuora. Brown played a bulk of his career at Bristol City, and has also played for Cheltenham, Torquay, QPR and Swindon and has made over 200 league appearances in his career.
Brown will appear with a view to signing for the Imps and adding extra cover to a depleted midfield after the departure of Jamie Hand.
