Midfield Don Luke Howell Take A Bow Son

Last updated : 27 January 2011 By Neil Hobbs

On loan Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Luke Howell is showing that versatility is the spice of life at the rejuvenated Imps. The utilityman has spent the last two games out on the right in place of Carayol (out for another week or 2) and has taken to it like a duck to water. But then Luke learned his trade at Gillingham predominantly as a right back and can play fullback, wing-back or as an orthodox right or central midfielder.

These defensive traits have certainly given the Imps more stability down the right hand side along with the arrival of on loan Reading left back Julian Kelly who is playing on the right in a position Luke knows well from his time at MK Dons.  The two are developing a good understanding down the right already. That said Hunt and McCallum are a very exciting combination down the left.  Good times ahead for the Imps you feel.

Well done Luke, are the rumours on a permanent deal at the end of the season true we wonder?
