Lincoln Moorlands 0 – Lincoln City 2

Last updated : 21 July 2002 By Jonathan Hall

The Imps fielded a number of youth team players, forwards Johnny Bell and Adam Kerley, utility man Adam Holtham and Craig Stant (son of former City manager, Phil), all in action. Stant was joined at the back by Richard Logan – one of the few recognised faces amongst a youthful City line-up.

Young goalkeeper, Darren Horrigan remained between the sticks for the full ninety minutes, while Mark Camm enjoyed a steady game at right-back. Elsewhere, Adam Buckley started the match on the left for the Imps.

Striker Simon Yeo (one of many second half substitutes) was given a run-out in the second half in order to resume his recovery from the knock he sustained in training recently. The front man continued to impress, shooting at will and on one occasion rattling the crossbar with a powerful effort.

Youth Development Coach, John Schofield, also played a part.

The vast majority of potential first team players were granted a rest on the sidelines, as the party prepare to make the journey to Northern Ireland in the next couple of days.

The Imps won this casual encounter through a sloppy goal, credited to Adam Kerley and an own-goal, after the Moorlands goalkeeper fumbled into his own net under the challenge of a City substitute.

Unfortunately, Planet Imp cannot accurately publish today’s team line-ups as there were so many unfamiliar and so many changes made.

Unofficial figures suggest that around 200 people were in attendance for today's informal friendly match.
