Bloomer - Lincoln City Mad's Player Of The Year 2004/05
Matt Bloomer stole 34.5% of votes to secure himself Player Of The Year 04/05 here on LCM, ahead of 25.7% taken by Simon Yeo. The dependable defender has been consistent despite apparently playing out of position at right back, but lost his place in the wake of the 3-2 defeat by Wycombe and shortly afterwards he was voted as the player most fans wanted to see ousted from the team.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes he has managed to win his place back in the hearts of the fans, despite making only a handful of appearances from the bench. Quite how he did it remains a mystery, but the award was bestowed on him by Imps mascot Poacher. Poacher approached Bloomer ahead of the 0-0 draw with Darlington and had a word in his ear to break the good news. A bemused Bloomer chuckled back that he'd have to log onto LCM and have a look. As yet we have no confirmation he actually did.

Bloomers Imps career could be coming to an end with him heavily tipped to not feature on the list of players offered new deals. Despite his versatility he has fallen down the pecking order at centre back, right back and full back.

The official player of the Yeo and LCM's runner up Simon Yeo will doubtless be miffed at missing out on the big award, but hopefully he'll be back to try again next season!
