Ladak speaks out against Lincoln. Again.

Ladak has spoken on his clubs website about links being between Kettering manager Mark Cooper and the vacant Lincoln City managers job.

"Lincoln have not made any approach (to the club) for Mark Cooper and he has not asked for permission to speak to Lincoln. If Lincoln are interested, they know my number so there is no need for this courtship via the BBC and NLP. But then again, we know how they love talking about Kettering to the media."

Whilst the opening sentiment of the statement is quite justified and correct, the chairman couldn't help but have a dig at the club, with a poorly disguided reference to the race row that embroiled the two clubs ten months ago.

Media have indeed been linking Mark Cooper with the vacant mangers job, and Imps director Bob Dorrian answered a question from Radio Lincolnshires Michael Hortin regarding Coopers chances of getting the job.

"Cooper's under contract at Kettering but they both (Gary Brabin is the other name) fit the criteria of the type of manager we'd like to recruit."

Cooper is indeed under contract at Kettering, but his contract is up in 8 months time, meaning any compensation package offered to Kettering would not have to be as substantial as first thought.

There seems to be little hint of Lincoln actually making an approach for Cooper, but they have invited applicatons for the job. There is no hint that Cooper has applied.

Cooper has had significant success at Kettering, taking them on a good FA Cup run as well as achieving promotion to the BSP. They missed out on the play offs last year. He fits the criteria of  'a young, ambitious manager', as laid out by Dorrian and Wright this week.

There is no suggestion that City will be approaching any manager, and it seems both presumptuos and premature that Ladak should take the opportunity to lash out at the club. However he did release a statement prematurely in the race row, which ended when a man was aquitted of delivering racial abuse to Iffy Onuora.
