As part of the 125 year celebrations City have announced a couple of friendlies against teams who have a connection to our history. recently we invited Arsenal to a game, which they graciously accepted, and now it the turn of Premiership hopefuls Sheffield Utd.
The Blades will appear on Tuesday July 28th, and complete the bill of teams we've faced in those early years. Sheff Utd were our first football league opponents, on September 3rd, 1892.
So far as well as Arsenal we also have Sleaford Town who were the Imps first ever opponents in 1884, with City running out 9-1 winners. Sleaford will grace Sincil Bank on Sunday July 19th - The Imps community day.
