Forrester departure opens door for Dodds

Dodds has apparently expressed an interest via the Echo to make a return to Sincil Bank, and with City a striker down, his chances appear to have improved.

Dodds enjoyed a happy season with the Imps scoring some stunning goals including LCM's goal of the season in the 1-0 win over Wycombe in an emotional last game for Peter Jackson before treatment.

Speculation rose that Dodds may well be offered a contract by City, something the player would be very interested in.

"Lincoln have indicated they will offer me a contract and if it's right for me and my family, I would love to come back" explained Dodds.

"But words are one thing, I'm still waiting to see a contract. I'm waiting for the club to get in contact with my agent and sort out talks."

Dodds isn't in a rush at the moment to sort things out, but as the close season progresses he'll be wanting to know where he's playing next season.

"I'm fairly relaxed about things at the moment, but it would be good to get something sorted out soon. Leicester have offered me a new contract, but things are still uncertain as they haven't got a manager yet."

Dodds explained he doesn't really see a future at The Walkers Stadium.

"I'd be surprised if I was still there (at Leicester) next season, but I wouldn't rule anything out."
