Finnigan Set For Robins Debut

The former Imps skipper, who moved to Whaddon Road on a free transfer this Thursday, is expected to be drafted in as a quick fix for the Robins' depleted midfield. Finnigan is likely to replace the crocked Lee Howells in the heart of the midfield to make his home debut for his new club.

It is understood that no clause was introduced into Finnigan’s transfer to prevent him from playing the Imps when Cheltenham are the visitors to Sincil Bank on Tuesday night. However, providing Steve Cotterill has his usual midfield players available following injuries and suspensions, a “gentleman’s agreement” will stand in the way of Finnigan meeting his old club so soon.

If midfield men Russell Milton and Mark Yates do return to the Robins' line-up in time for Tuesday’s game, then Finnigan may not travel with the squad.
