Cochrane On The Move

The solid-looking defensive leader has joined locals Lincoln Moorlands. Manager John Priestly snapped up the youngster at the end of last week, well aware that he had beforehand been told of his release from Sincil Bank.

Planet Imp exclusively broke the news that five of the club’s six third-year scholars were to be released at the season’s end. Daniel Bent, Chris McConville, Grant Pinkney, Richard Byrne and Gary Cochrane were all told that they are no longer needed at Lincoln City Football Club. ‘Keeper Darren Horrigan was the lucky, but deserving one.

Cochrane is the first of the five to find a new club, as he drops down a level or two to local side Moorlands. The defender made his debut for his new team on Saturday against Bridlington Town. The remaining four, along with Cochrane, are still turning out for the Imps reserves until they find themselves a new club, however one or two are considering moving away from football altogether if they cannot find somewhere else to go.

It is understood that midfielder Chris McConville is considering a career in the police force if he cannot resurrect his football career elsewhere.
