Everton’s Head Of Corporate Affairs and PR, Ian Ross, said, Community Programme Director, “Ted Sutton accepted an invitation by the Chinese authorities to see how things operate over there. They will exchange views and ideas. That is the sole purpose of the visit.”
Therefore, it seems that the proposed joint venture between the Chinese authorities and Everton Football Club to set-up a youth academy in China is very much in its infancy – with Sutton’s trip to the Far East being for fact-finding purposes only at this stage.
