Poacher The Imp is already in training for THE mascot race event of next year, The Lingfield Mascot Derby

The Mascot Derby has been held for the past two years at Lingfield racecourse and next year is set to carry on the trend. Over 45 mascots have been invited to take part in this a event of which 35 have already confirmed including Poacher.
The mascots have identified this as one of the friendliest large events to be held in their honour. There is a great family buzz which is always so popular, the racecourse provides relaxing surrondings. The mascots will be racing for a trophy.
The charity which will benefit this year is the new CHILDRENS TRUST, TADWORTH COURT, SURREY, who have this to say:
WE WILL BE HELPING BUILD A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR CHILDREN WITH SEVERE DISABILITIES. ONE LITTLE BOY WAS WALKING HOME FROM SCHOOL AND WAS STRUCK BY A CAR THROWN HIGH IN THE AIR AND LEFT WITH SERIOUS BRAIN DAMAGE AND PROFOUND DISABILITIES. HE IS UNABLE TO WALK OR TALK FOR EVERMORE. THIS WHY THE MASCOTS DO ALL SORTS STRANGE THINGS LIKE THIS RACE TO HELP KIDS LIKE THESE WHO CANT HELP THEMSELVES. WE HELP RAISE FUNDS TO GIVE KIDS LIKE THIS SOME INDEPENDENCE, I FEEL PRIVILEGED TO BE ABLE TO MEET KIDS AND THANK EVERYONE OF THE MASCOT FRATERNITY WHO SUPPORT ME IN THIS WONDERFUL CHARITY AND EVENT.
Those words came from Chester The Bear, mascot for childrens charity.
So now its just down to Poacher to hone his skills ready for the big day. The only drawback is this event takes place in July 2005, and that means seven months hard training!
