Lincoln City 3 Leeds United 0 A View From The Stacey West

Ok so it was Leeds United reserves and no Davide of the ‘Sommatime when the scoring is easy’, did not make a return, but that headline is enough to make any Imp day dream for a while on a wet & windy Wednesday and a great one to kick off the LCM reserves & youth section.(see shiny new left tool bar)

As it happened, what was once considered to be the best part of our first team triumphed emphatically over a young, weak Leeds side with a 3-0 win?  Carayol and Scott Spencer aka screech lived up to  reputation and were centre stage as their footballing personalities demand.

The Breakthrough,  after a half of pressure and efforts from the pair and Ben Hutchinson,  came on 37 when big Ben chimed in with a half volley from outside the area that flew inside the post.

Number two came courtesy of a Carayol corner. A splendid, floated, pinpoint delivery found the huge new giant of the Imps Patrick Kanyuka at the back post. He rose head & shoulders above the rest to head home.

Hughton was brought down in full flow on the overlap for a penalty which Big Ben coolly converted sending the keeper the wrong way.

The Imps put out a very strong side although Anyons (1 save) Anderson, Green and Hughton were not exactly tested. Patrick Kanyuka, Mustapha Carayol, Ali Fuseini, Scott Spencer and Ben Hutchinson , all out there for match fitness put in a decent shift. Mustapha &  Ali could yet become the Arabian nights we dream of although Screech is a real box  of tricks and one that will brighten the Bank for real one day.
