Imps v Stanley - Preview

Last updated : 12 February 2008 By Gary Hutchinson
The Imps will be looking to extend their winning run to four games with a trip to Accrington tonight. Victory at the Frazer Eagle stadium would see City leapfrog Accrington and pull further away from the relegation spots.

The Imps have no fresh injury worries, but can welcome back Paul Green
The worst ground in the football league? It'll certainly give Macclesfield a run for its money.
(suspension) and possibly Lennel John-Lewis (shoulder). Both players missed the win over Rochdale on saturday. Lewis' recovery has been a big boost for City who first feared he could be out for several weeks.

Paul Green can expect to go straight back into the side after being adequately covered for on Saturday. Nat Brown had a decent gamne at full back, but at times looked out of position and almost allowed Rene Howe in for a second Rochdale goal. On the other hand Paul Green has been almost perfect in recent weeks, getting down the line to add to the attack whilst also covering well at the back.

Peter Jackson hinted to the Lincolnshire Echo that he may alter a winning side 'Do I tinker with a winning side? I'll wait and see but knowing me I probably will do'.

Stanley - Appalling home form
Accrington boosted their playing staff in Januray by bringing back Ian Craney and also signing ex Liverpool midfielder Danny Mannix. Both players will be looking to settle quickly and help pull Stanley away from an ever more competitive bottom eight.

Stanley have been in poor form losing six on the bounce before stopping the rot with a 3-2 win over Chester on Saturday. However there home form has been poor, winning just four games on their home ground this season. They have managed nine away wins in all competitions, however one of those was not at Sincil Bank as we registered a 2-0 win back in August with goals from Louis Dodds and Dany 'Eiffel Power' N'Guesson.

The Frazer Eagle Stadium isn't likely to be an inviting venue for tonights game as its generally regarded as the worst football ground in the league.
